Mary Garden Showers Painting

Recently I completed a new painting of Mary and Jesus for Mary Garden Showers.  It is a beautiful ministry which helps mothers in crisis pregnancies.  There are prints available on my site here all proceeds go to Mary Garden Showers.  The framed original painting will be auctioned off at my booth during the Columbus Catholic Women's Conference this February.
I wanted to show Mary and Jesus in an affectionate moment, mother and baby playing together quietly.  Jesus is meant to look like He is crowning her with flowers, representing what will come when they are both in heaven.  But mostly I hoped to show Mary as a human mother in love with her child, awed by His beauty and innocence.

Lovely. Very well done, the style reminds me of the best illustration from the 1930-40s.

Beautiful! I would only like to see a nimbus for Mary too, but simpler of course.

Oh, I totally want a print of this. I love it! So beautiful, Bernadette!

And I agree with Kevin on the nimbus: a suggestion of a white glow around her head might be sufficient.

Thank you all so much for the kind words! And for the suggestion, I think you are right Kevin and Regina, I may try adding the white glow.
