Hand-painted stole

Here's a stole I hand-painted for a friend.  "Mary and Joseph". Notice the pistil parts are three nails in the center of the lily.  His church is very contemporary, and the rose window is one big rose! This could be for any Marian day or Feast of St. Joseph, weddings, Easter, Christmas...  It was a true joy creating it - -  a new artistic avenue?

Beautiful song, some of the lyrics are a bit problematic, but it inspired this piece nevertheless.

The Burning Bush

I've always been intrigued by the typology of the burning bush as a foreshadowing of the perpetual virginity of Mary. Interestingly some translations mention that God spoke to Moses through an angel while others do not mention an angel at all.

Our Lady and the Samurai

Recently completed private commission, a samurai kneels before Our Lady.

The Visitation

Hot off the drafting board.  I was commissioned to create an image of the Visitation for a church.  I was stumped!  My first thought was "Two pregnant women hugging each other = Borrrrr-ring!" 

But then the Spirit began Her work within my chest...  The client found this version too bizarre.  I came up with other ideas, spawning a completely different realization (which was the accepted vision), and a third composition, of Mary and Joseph.   Friends, who knows where God will take us?
