'Twas Brillig

A doodle finished off in photoshop (texture added, line colors changed, etc., etc.) from a recent Illustration Friday. The neck and hands are a bit off, but treating the hair as more of an undulating, water-like shape is something I picked up from an Andrew Loomis book (two thumbs up for his books).

I love how you stylize your art. Your pictures always make me smile and 'tickle my soul'. "Twas Brillig" ? that is part of a poem right? The one that was a jumble of non-words.

Nice little drawing, Abigail. What was the topic, again? I like the texture you added. Good show.

Thanks - the theme was "Tales and Legends" and being a big fan of "Alice and Wonderland," it made me think of the poem, "The Jabberwocky."

Ah! I was wondering if it was "Jabberwocky"! And this is a very nice sketch!

BTW, I notice all of your faces have a similar "look". I don't know what you yourself look like, but am wondering if the face you draw is, in fact, you? I've been accused of painting myself over and over again (I can't see it, but I recognize that we may gravitate to faces we know), and that might account for this observation.... Just curious....

Interesting observation... I've noticed this with most artists actually.

I do have a tendency to borrow heavily from friends and family, so I think that accounts for the similarity in characters.
