"The Shawshank Redemption"

Here's an illustration I did for the upcoming "Film Festival" feature in Gilbert Magazine. It's drawn in pencil, values added in photoshop.

The neat thing is I actually live relatively close to a lot of the scenes and towns described in the movie. That said, I'm still scratching my head as to why no one in that prison population has a down east accent...

Nice!

Nobody in movieland can do a down-east accent right. I've seen several where people tried, but it always fails miserably.

I've also tried to explain to people the difference between a Boston accent, a New England Patrician accent, a Maine accent, and a Vermont/New Hampshire Yankee accent. They don't get it.

Accents aside, the Shawshank picture is very nicely done!
