A Quick Project

This is a holy card (ACEO sized) that I painted as a farewell gift for our Pastor who has been reassigned.  It sounds like his new post might be a bit challenging, so I painted him a St. Benedict medal combined with St. Michael slaying the dragon.  I practiced with gold-leaf gilding on it, as I plan on entering the Apocalypse prize again this year & wanted to gild that.  Is anyone else entering the contest again, or for the first time?  I'm excited about it!

Thanks so much! I'm hoping he will like it. We are all so sad to loose him- he is a great priest!

Wow, I like this very much! Especially the composition. I'm thinking of entering the Apocalypse Prize again this year too.

Also, I can't help but wonder, do we go to the same parish?? We're also losing a great priest. I'm at NAM in Seattle. Feel free to email me (ardanziger at gmail dot com) some time, I'm always looking to network with other local Catholic artists. There seem to be quite a few of us around here. -Amanda

Thanks, Amanda!

Oh, I do hope you enter again; I really liked your beast with all of those heads. I'm afraid we don't go to the same parish, but we are in the same archdiocese! Our priest is headed closer to y'all (we're in southern WA). I will drop you a line, as I would love to connect with other artists in the state!

Cool, thanks! I look forward to hearing from you.

My departing pastor is headed southward to offer a Solemn High Latin Mass tonight: http://protocathedral.org/solemn-high-mass

Lovely holy card Adalee. I and my homeschool students will hopefully be entering the prize this year. Of course the time flies by so quickly, so who knows if I will get to it... again.
