You've done a fine job capturing his personality.

as a side note, I read the blog of the artist Tim O'Brien. He has a wonderful painting of the Holy Father. http://drawger.com/tonka/?section=articles&article_id=14739

He has a fascinating blog. Sadly he is a fallen away Catholic who deeply misunderstands the Church.

Wonderful work, Deacon! Theodore is right: he looks quietly joyful in this work. I like it very much.

Beautiful! Sensitively rendered. I am wondering--how do you get around copyright issues for a drawing like this, since you would probably have to use someone elses photo? Unless it is just for yourself, not selling? I ask because I had made a card illus of M Teresa for sale online and it ended up being pulled, because there was a problem with copyright. Thanks.
