I painted this en plein air during the Plein Air Vermont Competition. I loved the contrast between the white and red parts of the barn, and the soft, subtle colors the lighting provided that day. This barn tells the story of country life and self-reliance. They don't build beautiful structures like this anymore. I could almost hear the children playing, the chickens clucking, and the crack of a screen door in the distance. This painting is part of the Realistic Visions Exhibit at Bucks County Gallery of Fine Art in New Hope, PA. See more at www.jasontako.com

Very lovely. I like how one can sense the exact time of day as well as temperature in the air just by looking at the painting.
