Early Literacy Book

I spent several months this last year working on illustrations for an Early Literacy book for Seton Press. Just last week the final printed books came in the mail and, frankly, I'm very happy with how they look! Here are a few pictures:

A good little activity book for young ones.

Great work, Ben! A job well done. Is this something new? I don't remember Seton doing anything quite like this in the past.

Yeah it's a new thing.

Looks great! Kind of gruesome to think of the chicken frying it's own eggs, though (in the bottom illustration). Sounds like a poultry-fied version of a Greek tragedy...

Yeah that is kind of weird isn't it? In my defense, that page started with a classic Ben Hatke Creature making the eggs and then my editor said "only real animals or people" so I quickly redrew it as a chicken.

A fox would have made more sense, I guess.
