The Blessed Mother - comfort

I posted this on my cartoon blog, but thought it might be suited for here also.

As I stated in the cartoon blog, I've wanted to do something involving Mary, but am not comfortable drawing her face - mainly because throughout the ages others have done such beautiful work, I could never hope to do something acceptable.

So I settled on this. A loving mother's comforting touch.

Really nice! Good linework, drapery and the soft colors really work. Thanks for posting.

My only crit is that young Christ child's arm is a little large and somewhat disconnected. Almost as if it's another arm reaching in.

It wasn't intended as the Christ child, more like a representation of me as a boy. I wonder if Christ had freckles as a boy? :oD
