Madonna and Child - oil study



I've been away far too long. Welcome to all of you who have recently joined! Here is a small unfinished oil study painted last week for a larger piece I hope to work on in the coming months. Still in need of a few changes, but I feel this will be good groundwork for the final.

Wow! You are really learning fast from studying the 19th century masters. These colors look spot on.

I can't wait to see what the final looks like.

Thanks Sophie... I haven't worked much in the card industry. If I can get a few of these pieces finished I might have something to start with.

Dang, man, that's lovely! I especially like the middle picture in the little process pictures you posted. But I'm always a sucker for sepia and ochre.
