Essentially Black and white.

Here is Saint Christopher, along with a few more of these illustrations. The first two in particular are essentially black and white pictures with light photoshop colors thrown in. Howard Pyle is my inspiration when it comes to this kind of thing.

I might be able to throw the non colored versions up here if anyone is interested...

The little please girl relies a little more on the coloring, and the last picture if I'm lucky, should seem like a nice old hymnal illustration.
