Here's another in that style I'm working on. This is from way back in 2005, I think. You can see where I'm going when you see the one I posted before on July 30th.
The feast day of Our Lady, Star of the Sea (Stella Maris) falls on August 24th this year. Thought I'd post this ahead of time in case anyone wants to join me in a novena for the Cajun people starting on the 16th, the day after the anniversary of my vows and the feast of the Assumption... Just a thought!

Oh yeah, check out paragraphs 49 and 50 of Spe Salve
The picture is really pretty, what did you used to make this? I've never seen this technique before!
I don't know anything about this feast, we probably don't have it here O_O. Although, tomorrow we have biggest feast in my city- for st. Lawrence, patron of our main church and city :D
Nice to see blogging Jesuit, I like Jesuits so much that I even forced my brother to take saint Inigo for his saint patron at confirmation ;D
I used Macromedia Freehand at first then finished it up in Adobe Illustrator. I think Adobe bought out Freehand now...
Thanks for the compliments!
St. Lawrence is my confirmation saint!
Great John, excellent design!
Love it!
Hi J.J.
I'm so glad you sent me a note about the upcoming feast. Unfortunately and for no know reason it went into my "spam" folder and I just now saw it. I'll go check my holy cards that are in a que to post automatically to see if I've scheduled one.
I love what you have done here.
It looks "neo-Bureonese" -- the Bureon school is overdue for revival.
Pope Pius XII liked and recommended this style of sacred art.
