I'm always impressed with your color choices - very nice.
I wonder what it would look like with a decorative ampersand instead of "and"? Some kind of a script or something that would bring the two lines together?
Thanks, all. The text is actually temporary...final text to be worked out. So, I know, Ted, that the shadow on the first line text is wrong, but didn't bother to clean up, knowing it would change. Also, Abigail, ampersand is a great suggestion...if we stick with this text, I'll definitely consider it.

I love it! What a great motto! Also love the colors.
Niffty!
my only 2 crits would be to make the type and the types "shadow" a little closer together and Bilbo's legs look a little green...
I also wonder how it would look if you curved the type to follow the door... maybe just slightly?

Oh, Ted, good comment on curving text as well...also a thing to play with once text is finalized. Thanks!
Round Hobbit doors make great design elements!
Jef--this looks like something Tolkien himself would have painted! I have a book of his illustrations and you've captured the same style.
John,
Thanks! I guess some of the "look and feel" of his world is starting to rub off a bit. I'm very complimented!
