July Art Jam: St. Ignatius

St. Ignatius of Loyola, watercolor. I haven't painted much at all, so tips and critiques are welcome.

nice! I like how you handled the background. I'm working on my contribution to the jam.

I like the gold and blue combination. I also like the nod to Eucharistic Adoration, something St. Ignatius and the early Jesuits were important promoters of.

Wow! Watercolor? I'm so glad that you posted the thumbnail earlier. The two, taken together, give me a bit of hope for my own work.

Duh, it says "watercolor." Sorry. I especially like how the cloud lines appear behind the halo. Nice touch.

well, I was working on a caricature of Jesuit and head of ignatius press, Fr. Fessio, since he has been in the news... but alas I haven't captured a likeness yet. (though I THOUGHT he would be no problem)
