Christ in Majesty
This is a photo of a little test project I finished recently. I wanted to try my hand at creating an illuminated manuscript. This is closely based on the image of Christ in Majesty from the Westminster Psalter (about 1200 A.D.) I used pen, brush, and colored inks on a 5"x7" piece of Bristol board.
This style is very interesting...it's just on the edge of transition between Romanesque and Gothic, but it has a lot in common with Byzantine mosaics of Christ Pantocrator.

Great job, I would love to see some more. How did you apply the colored inks? Do you use a brush, or are they in pen form?
